ILLINOIS DUCK CREEK CAMP Our North Camp is located in Fulton County near the town of Canton. It is a very unique 9600 acre, one parcel, property. There is a 2000 acre, 7 mile long, lake that snakes through the middle of it. The lake has long fingers that run east and west into the agriculture creating funnels throughout. The lake was created by the largest man made dam in the state of Illinois on the South end of the property. On the Southwest corner of the property is a coal power plant surrounded by several acres of sanctuary that is off limits due to security reasons. Duck Creek sports around 1000 acres of farm ground with a mixture of corn, soybeans and alfalfa. We have went to extensive efforts to ensure that the property has A LOT of food left over for holding deer throughout the winter. We have planted nearly 40 acres of our own soybeans and will purchase several acres of standing corn from the tenant farmers. Besides holding our own deer, we will draw deer from miles surrounding. Duck Creek is bordered by thousands of acres of unhunted coal company land with no agriculture on any of it! Need I say more!! The key to hunting Duck Creek will be our layout for exit and entrance routes. We will incorporate:
- A boat to navigate the waters in the dark of the AM and PM.
- Bad Boy Buggies for stealth on the land.
- Routes coming off of St. Rt. 24(Borders on the east side) to sneak in the back doors.
Come join the limited numbers hunting Duck Creek and see why this will be one of Hunt Masters flagship properties! SOUTH CAMP Our South Camp is on 4000 acres of prime land in Cass, Morgan and Menard counties. The country is gentle rolling, with hardwood ridges and agriculture bottoms. Ben Plattner has managed this land for the past 7 years. It is definitely proven with several booners and four 200"ers to its credit. The 4000 acres is comprised of 12 different parcels. As with Duck Creek, we are all about the food. We are constantly working on each property to improve our food layout. We take the areas the farmers don't utilize and incorporate them with standing soybeans, clover or alfalfa. When the deer feel pressure on surrounding properties, we want them to find ours as their new home! We are keeping the numbers extremely low in the South Camp and really focusing on the BIG upper end deer. If you are serious about giant whitetails and small unique camps come hunt with us the "Hunt Masters" Way!! |
